How Technology Is Changing the Art World 19:30pm -20:30
The fusion of Art and Tech is not a new phenomenon. In 1966, artists Robert Rauschenberg and Robert Whitman founded "Experiments in Art & Technology" with two engineers in order to give artists more access to technology. Fifty years later, questions about the meeting of Art and Technology have become prevalent. Has technology already disrupted the art market the way Uber has disrupted taxi services? If not now, then when? Which of the art world's vices could benefit from a little technological disruption? Join this lively discussion with Valerie Konde (Founder of Collectionair), Bernardine Brocker (Founder of Vastari) and Vishal Kumar (Digital Artist) to discover a few answers to these questions

The 21st century requires knowledge, imagination and play. Led by Dr Jasmine Pradissitto, Quantum Artist, physicist, educator (Director of Proeducation) and creativity evangelist, this fun hands-on workshop explores the idea of ‘mark making’ and producing art through scientific phenomena. Using mostly household objects, so things can be explored further at home, we will explore making 3D bubbles, spinning force pictures, painting with light and amazing things that can be done with a simple strip of paper as well as working with the special as well the as throw-way materials that she uses in her own art practise. A visual feast of hands on playing and colour, it changes our perception about just how similar art and science are.
