Marine Tanguy - Innovation

Marine has been working in the art world for the past eight years. An advocate for artists since a young age, Marine directed her first gallery at age 21, opened her first art gallery in Los Angeles at age 23 and finally created her current business, MTArt, to promote the artists she believed in across the globe. MTArt is the first artist agency promoting influential visual artists and specialising in talent management: building, growing and accelerating their careers. Marine is a writer, frequent speaker on contemporary art and an art collector. She is a member of The Thousand Network, the Creative Industries Federation and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Liezel Strauss - Curation

South African-born Liezel is Subject Matter's Co-Founder, Creative Director and Co-Curator. Her creative endeavours span four continents over a decade. Liezel's articles on art and design have appeared in magazines in Japan, South Africa, the USA and Germany. She is also the founder of My Japan, a crowdsourced photographic initiative to raise funds and awareness following the 2011 Fukushima earthquake and tsunami. Liezel initially fell in love with photographic art while living in Germany, and over the years the passion grew into a dream of making art buying easy and enjoyable. In 2010 she moved to Japan and in 2011 Subject Matter was born with its first gallery in Tokyo. Subject Matter now represents over twenty photographic artists at and Liezel has spoken widely on the positive value of art in our homes and lives. 


Katrina Aleksa -  Events 

Born in Latvia, Katrina Aleksa lived, studied and worked in the UK, Italy and Spain by the time she was 20. Katrina has an infectious passion for all things art. Since completing a degree in curating and art business at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, she has provided Fine Art consultation and brokered Fine Art deals for a number of years.To compliment her career as an art dealer, she founded Predella House in 2015 - an institute committed to the support of artists and encouraging new buyers in contemporary art. As well as supporting Tate patrons, Katrina is a co-founder of Association of Women in the Arts - a non-profit networking group established to advance the careers of women in the visual arts, and to promote change in the cultural landscape.

Kitty Dinshaw - Curation

Oxford graduate Kitty is Artist Director and Co-Curator of Subject Matter. Kitty is passionate about supporting the artists of the future, and encouraging collectors in this role. With Liezel, she is one of the co-creators of of a highly-regarded programme with the Royal College of Art. This encompasses a day of Professional Practice workshops for existing students, and an annual group show of selected students' work which raises money for the College’s Fine Art Bursary Fund - enabling artists who otherwise would not be able to afford to study at the RCA to do so. Kitty has also spoken at Sotheby’s Institute on the roles and responsibilities of managing artists. For more information on Subject Matter and to see the represented artists, visit
